Job description

Salary: $60-75,000 based on experience.

This position is remote until Spring of 2023, at which point we will be working on a hybrid basis out of our office in Chicago.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing communications firm with a diverse group of clients. We are looking for a collaborative and dynamic Communications Manager.

The successful candidate is a critical thinker with excellent client relations skills. They have extensive experience in developing strategies for communications campaigns using a combination of resources. They are both a thinker and a doer who can provide effective counsel to our clients, as well as roll up their sleeves and do the work alongside our team. Experience with virtual public engagement is preferred but not required.

Initially this position will report out of the Chicago office located in Edison Park while the firm relocates the office to downtown Chicago.

This position is remote, however, Chicagoland applicants only.

Salary $55,000 - $75,000 based on experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create versatile and strategic messages to satisfy client objectives

· Work collaboratively with project and design team to shape highly technical information into digestible messaging for targeted public consumption

· Create and implement social and digital education strategies, aligning community partnerships and identifying external forums to convey client stories and support thought leadership strategies

  • Identify key stakeholders including diverse audiences, community leaders, elected leaders and opinion leaders to ensure the right message is being developed and delivered in an effective way
  • Lead rapid response team and protocol to respond quickly to any media or social media issues

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated analytical skills to solve problems and find the best way to convey a message
  • The creativity to produce exciting and interesting content
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize projects on deadline
  • Demonstrated communications skills and ability to meet client expectations
  • Able to track multiple tasks for multiple projects to keep on time and budget
  • Ability to work with design team to produce targeted collateral materials
  • Proven experience building coalitions, engaging stakeholders and managing communications needs is critical to this position’s success

· Experience managing and analyzing customer interactions with a CRM platform like Salesforce, is a plus

  • 4+ years professional experience in the areas of communications and marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree
