We are seeking an Electronic Communications and Discovery Engineer on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days on-site and 2 days remote/week) in Atlanta or Houston (preferred).

This role will design, implement, and maintain systems responsible for capturing, storing, monitoring, and managing electronic communications across email, chat, SMS, social media, and collaboration platforms. Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure archiving and journaling solutions for electronic communications in alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Improve automation, scalability, reliability, and resilience of archiving systems.
  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and security of communication data per internal standards.
  • Develop monitoring frameworks and analytic tools to track system health, detect anomalies, and proactively resolve issues.
  • Analyze requirements, implement enhancements, and deliver projects within defined timelines.
  • Prepare technical documentation, processes, and runbooks to support ongoing system maintenance.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and align systems with emerging technologies and evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with compliance, legal, audit, and technology teams to support regulatory requests, investigations, and data preservation needs.
  • Communicate effectively across teams, escalate blockers early, and maintain alignment with project goals.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal partners to ensure timely issue resolution and minimal business disruption.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, including SEC, FINRA, and MiFID II, and requirements for electronic communications capture.
  • Expertise with archiving platforms such as Veritas Enterprise Vault, Microsoft 365 Purview, and Proofpoint.
  • Experience with monitoring and analytics tools such as Splunk or Elastic.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages, including PowerShell and Python, and experience integrating 3rd-party connectors for email, chat, and SMS.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for cross-functional partners.
