Responsibilities

Comfortable working on both Ruby on Rails (RoR) for our backend and ReactJS for the frontend.
Ability to lead writing and implementing feature design documents, and working with product designers to ensure our implementation matches pixel perfect mockups
Able to balance resolving the technical debt of an existing code base with delivering on business objectives
Collaborate with others in feature design document review and pull requests
Comfortable using MySQL or formal BI tools to collect and use data to support business decisions
Lead and assist bug triage steps all the way through resolution
Resistant to complacency with a desire to drive meaningful improvements in our product and processes
Pair programming with other developers and engineers

Pre-requisites

4+ years of full-time experience on a production web application
Experience using Git Flow for collaborative source code management (we use Github)
Comfort working with abstract data types, knowing when to use which, when to use off the shelf, and when to build from scratch (and a huge preference to use off the shelf)
A passion for self documenting code through efficient naming, comments, and a bias towards keeping things simple
Venture-backed startup experience preferred
Experience with AWS tools and devops is a bonus!
