The Mom Project, Inc. Privacy Policy describes how we process the personal information of its users and visitors to its Platform, our subsidiaries and affiliates, including (themomproject.com and its subdomains, work.themomproject.com, community.themomproject.com, blog.themomproject.com, help.themomproject.com, mentor.themomproject.com, themomproject.org, werklabs.com, selfmade.themomproject.com) or other online properties, mobile applications, social media sites, live events that reference or link to this policy and has created the following "Privacy Policy" to inform you of its policies and practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information and other data through the Site.

Capitalized terms not defined in this Privacy Policy shall have the meaning attributed in the Terms of Service, found at https://themomproject.com/terms_of_service. By your continued use of the Site or Platform you accept the terms contained in this Privacy Policy.

  1. Your Personal Information

    The Mom Project strives to limit the collection, use, and processing of information to that required to provide and improve the Services and assist in the usability of the Site and the Platform. Information that is personally identifiable to you such as your name, address, email address or phone number is referred to as "Personal Information". By submitting Personal Information to us through the Site or Platform (when creating your account or profile, for example), or to our employees during the application or onboarding process, you expressly agree and consent to the processing of your Personal Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
  2. Information We Collect

    When you create an account on or use the Site, we collect and store Personal Information. The following are types of information we receive from you including certain Personal Information:.

    From representatives and personnel of Business Partner Companies:

    Contact Data: First and last name, company name and location, phone number, street address, city, state, postal code, country and email address.

    Profile Data: company role, title and department specifics, project description.

    Financial Data and Payment Data: financial account information such as check, ACH or credit card information, pay/bill rates.

    Online Activity Data: user ID, password, project description, metadata about interactions with the site and with other users, browser activity and navigation for services, promotions or research.

    Device Data: device IDs, browser and operating system information, IP address.

    From Talent:

    Contact Data: First and last name, company name and location, phone number, street address, city, state, postal code, country and email address.

    Profile Data: short personal summary or profile, your skills and certifications, resume information, employment history, profile photo, company role, title and department specifics, project description, the type of work you are interested in.

    Some Companies have strict security measures and require date of birth during the application or onboarding process. We may be required to collect this information from you.

    Government Issued ID data: Where required, we may collect full or partial Social Security or National ID Numbers or vaccination status.

    Financial Data and Payment Data: financial account information such as check, ACH or credit card information, pay/bill rates.

    Online Activity Data: user ID, password, project description,metadata about interactions with the site and with other users, browser activity and navigation for services, promotions or research.

    Device Data: device IDs, browser and operating system information, IP address.

    Demographic data: information which reveals your age, racial or ethnic origin, gender, veteran status, political opinions, religious or philosophical belief, genetic or biometric data, data concerning your health or sexual orientation.

    Communication Interactive Data: Participation in career, community and mentoring events and activities, records and copies of your correspondence via email, chat, in writing or telephone. Your responses to surveys that we might ask you to complete for delivery of the services or for research purposes, certification program progress and status.

  3. How we use your Personal Information

    To facilitate connecting its Companies, Recruitment Partners and Talent, The Mom Project will use and share certain Personal Information you provided to the Platform with prospective organizations who are registered as Companies or as Recruitment Partners regarding specific matching or placement opportunities. Matching may be made manually or in combination with algorithmic calculations that match shared attributes between Talent and Companies or Talent and Recruitment Partners.

    We use Personal Information to operate, maintain and provide Services through the Platform, to communicate with you, that require payment by wire transfer, check, ACH or credit card, we will collect applicable financial information from Companies and Talent and will use that information to perform billing and payment operations.

    We use participants in community and educational events and programs to give access to career and community events, connect to or match with professional support cohorts or individuals and other services to assist in your educational objectives such as certification programs, mentor relationships and career development opportunities.

    Werklabs. Personal information is collected via interviews and surveys, which is then aggregated and de-identified, and combined with external data resources to produce research-based insights and solutions to build people-centric workplaces.

    SelfMade. Personal information is used to assist users market their business, generate leads, create successful client agreements and support financial and operational compliance.

    We will contact you through email, phone, mobile phone, chat services, or through notices posted on our websites, and other ways through our Services. We will send you calendar invites to facilitate interviews with prospective employers and messages about the availability of our Services, security, or other service-related issues. We also send messages about how to use our Services, network updates, reminders, match notifications, job suggestions, and promotional messages from us and our partners.

    You may unsubscribe from marketing emails via your account settings or the link provided in the emails. Please be aware that you cannot opt out of receiving service messages from us, including security and legal notices.

    We also enable communication between you and prospective employers. You may receive email and phone communications from prospective employers. Users of the employer will also receive communications about prospective talent.

    We provide analytics and reporting functionalities to companies that use our services; we do not share personal information with them. Demographic data is aggregated with demographic data provided by other Talent users, and summarized in standardized reports to Companies on demographic makeup of the Talent pool, to help Companies learn and improve job listings, job search and to help Companies meet hiring fairness requirements. Companies are not provided individualized or raw demographic data.

  4. Sharing of your Personal Information

    To the extent necessary to provide you with the Services, we may provide your Personal Information to other third party contractors, recruitment or other business partners who work on our behalf to help us provide you with the Services or maintain the Site or services on the Platform.

    1. Connect and match Talent and Companies, Business Partners or Recruitment Partners via our Platform and Services for job opportunities, which may be initiated by Talent or by Companies. Provide analytics and reporting to Companies.
    2. Other Business Partners and Professional Advisors that are part of The Mom Project community you chose to share your data with through our Platform and Services, such as events, communities, RISE or RALLY.
    3. Recruitment Partners (aka Business Partners), who may contact Talent directly about potential job opportunities the partner is seeking to fill on behalf of a company or companies
    4. Third party service providers and vendors that support business and financial operations including support, service fulfillment, invoicing and billing and payment operations such as ACH, wire transfer and credit card processing. Some service providers may be located outside the U.S. View our subprocessors list here.
    5. Third party service providers, who provide screening servicesand may contact Talent directly to obtain information necessary to perform a background check or drug testing in connection with the Services.
    6. Third party service providers that provide cloud hosting and other technical service and infrastructure providers in order to deliver the services, operate our business and secure our platform, site, infrastructure, services and applications. These providers may provide hosting services from multiple geographic locations. Analytics services to help us understand our business.
    7. Third party service providers, including operators of third-party websites, in order to show you targeted advertisements and other content that has been customized for you. We also use cookies to facilitate targeted advertisements.
    8. Business Transferees and other parties in connection with a transaction, such as a merger, sales of company assets or shares, reorganization, financing, change of control or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company or third party, or in the event of a bankruptcy or related similar proceedings.
    9. Authorities, which as required by law, subpoena or other valid legal process, or if we have a good faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to (1) investigate, prevent or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities or to assist government enforcement agencies; (2) enforce our agreements with you; (3) investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations; (4) protect the security or integrity of our Services); or (5) exercise or protect the rights and safety of The Mom Project, our Users, personnel, or others. The Mom Project may disclose Personal Information when required by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary in order to conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on The Mom Project.
  5. Data Storage and Transfers.

    The Mom Project uses a variety of cloud hosting services, primarily stored in the U.S. If you are a company with employees, team members or other end users located in the UK or European Union, you confirm that you have the right to transfer user data to our Platform and Service, and to facilities located primarily in the U.S.
  6. Security

    The Mom Project strives to protect your Personal Information. Personal Information is stored in our databases, including in the cloud. Each employee of The Mom Project signs a confidentiality and nondisclosure agreement to ensure your privacy. The Site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control, and meets industry standards for the protection and confidentiality of personal information. The Mom Project operates all its services, including any payment information, across the Internet using secure connections (Transport Layer Security/TLS/"HTTPS"/formerly known as SSL). Despite our efforts to keep your Personal Information protected, please know that we cannot guarantee the security of data traveling over the Internet beyond industry standards such as TLS.
  7. Testimonials

    From time to time, we may post Company and Talent testimonials, which may contain Personal Information such as the Company or Talent's name, on the Site, but will obtain the Company or Talent's consent prior to posting the testimonial.
  8. Consumer Data Rights

    1. Opt-out and Controls. When you create an account on the Site and create a profile on the Platform, you are agreeing to receive newsletters, emails and promotional materials from The Mom Project. At any time, you may opt-out of sharing your Personal Information posted on the Platform or receiving such communications by emailing us with your specific request at support@themomproject.com or, when available, through the Settings section of the Site. Note that opting out from such communications does not apply to our ability to communicate with you regarding non-marketing Service-related matters regarding your account or use of the Platform as described here.
    2. Correct/Update. If you would like to review the information we have received from you or correct inaccurate information about you, please log into your account to do so.
    3. Access. If you would like to access the information we have received from you or obtain a copy of it, please log into your account to do so. You can obtain a copy of your information by contacting us at support@themomproject.com.
    4. Portability. If you would like a copy of the information we have about you, please log into your account to do so. You can obtain a copy of your information by contacting us at support@themomproject.com.
    5. Deletion. If you would like to deactivate or delete your information, you may contact us at support@themomproject.com
    6. Do Not Track. The Mom Project does not respond to browser-based Do Not Track signals.

    In accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and Consumer Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), Californians may request a copy of the data TMP has about them, or request to access, correct or delete their personal information be deleted by emailing us with your specific request at support@themomproject.com.   9. Use of Cookies

    Some pages on the Site may use cookies to identify your browser as you visit pages on the Site. A cookie is a small piece of information which is sent to your browser and may stay on your computer or mobile device when you visit our website, depending on your browser or internet settings. Cookies do not damage your device - they are used to "remember" when you visit again as well as provide an additional tool in helping us market and track the success of marketing campaigns. The cookies are used for Site registration, customization the next time you visit the Site, verification of your device's authorization and access roles to utilize our services, and for marketing and analytics of our products and services.

    Some parts of the Site may also use cookies to track User traffic patterns to determine the usefulness of information on our Site to our Users and to see how effective our tools and user experience are in helping Users. Cookies cannot read data off of your hard drive. Your web browser may allow you to be notified when you are receiving a cookie, giving you the choice to accept it or not. If you prefer not to receive cookies while browsing our Site, you can set your browser or network configuration to warn you before accepting cookies and refuse the cookie when your browser alerts you to its presence.     The Mom Project and third-party vendors (such as Google, LinkedIn, Double-Click, and Adsense) use first-party cookies (such as Google Analytics or cookies provided by The Mom Project) and third-party cookies (Double-Click) together in order to inform, optimize, and serve ads based on past visits and behaviors on our website. We have implemented and use display advertising, and we use Google Analytics to implement a feature called remarketing, which allows us to optimize the delivery of ad content specifically targeted to a User's interests based on previous web visits and behaviors.     The Mom Project and third-party vendors utilize first-party cookies to collect and store data on the usage of the Platform for the purpose of improving the Platform and services. Only data that a User has explicitly provided on our Platform or Services are collected. Sensitive data such as passwords and credit card information are blocked from this cookie and not collected.

  10. Links to Third Party Sites

    The Site may contain links to other websites including social media widgets and "like" or "share" buttons. These other websites, third party widgets and buttons are hosted by third parties and not by The Mom Project. The Mom Project is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such third party websites or links. We encourage you to learn about the privacy practices and terms of use of those other companies, including their opt-out processes.
  11. Protecting the Privacy of Children

    Children under 18 years old are not the target audience for our Site. To protect their privacy, we do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13 years old. No one under age 13 may provide any Personal Information to The Mom Project or on the Platform. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on this Site.
  12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

    We reserve the right to change, modify or update this Privacy Policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Any material changes in the way we use your Personal Information will be contained in the updated Privacy Policy posted on the Site. Your continued use of the Site will signify your acceptance of the changes.
