We are seeking a Contracts & Sourcing Specialist on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. The main function of a Contracts & Sourcing Specialist is to administer activities related to contracts for the purchase or sale of equipment, tools, parts, supplies, or services necessary for the operation of an establishment. A typical Contracts Specialist is responsible for negotiating contracts with the customer or bidder.
What You’ll Do:
- Research and evaluate performance requirements of suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, and other relevant factors.
- Review bids from suppliers for conformity to contract requirements and determines acceptable bids.
- Provides bids, process specifications, test and progress reports, and other exhibits as necessary.
- Requests or approves amendments to or extensions of contracts.
- Advises relevant departments of contractual rights and obligations.
- Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods or services.
- Manage sourcing projects (RFI/RFP/RFQ) and lead contract negotiations for equipment and related services that optimize value for client.
- Analyze internal requirements, external supply markets, spend data, and risks to develop and implement sourcing strategies that are aligned with the business goals
- Develop collaborative relationships with key business partners and cross-functional teams (Engineering, Finance, Legal, etc) to negotiate the best deals for client while meeting business objectives
- Negotiate and draft complex contracts (R&D equipment and IT Hardware, equipment design, service/warranty support, software contracts, etc) with suppliers that meet client requirements
- Ensure business activities and contracts comply with internal policies and guidelines, and industry laws and regulations. Specific project work will vary including various sourcing and source-to-pay activities.
Must-Haves:
- 4+ years of global sourcing and contract drafting and negotiation experience in Engineering tools, equipment, IT hardware, and services preferably in the consumer electronics industry
- Must have sourcing R&D equipment experience that is used for manufacturing, inspection, test and measurement etc

- Proven experience working with stakeholder teams e.g. Engineering, Legal, Finance, suppliers, etc to develop and build alignment around long and short-term sourcing, contracting, and supplier strategies
- Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Able to prioritize, be highly productive and manage high volumes in an environment of fast growth and ambiguity
- Highly motivated and able to think clearly under pressure
- Ability to balance legal/contractual issues with business risk. Disciplined, organized, and flexible
- Adept in working with various tools including MS Office, Oracle, and contract management tools
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, negotiation skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals, and other technical data.
- Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
- Ability to predict consumer buying patterns.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing.
- Knowledge of supply chain management.
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or a related business field is required.
- BA/BS degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Engineering or Management
Hours & Location:
- M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be 100% Remote.
