Job description
The Mom Project is excited to partner with a woman-lead law firm practicing family law and commercial litigation. Located in Evanston, Illinois, they have a hybrid work schedule with generous remote work time.
We are looking for an attorney with minimum 3 years of experience in any type of litigation, prosecutor experience, or appellate practice experience to join our team. Core responsibilities
- Communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, opposing parties, and/or third parties.
- Drafting pleadings and motions.
- Developing discovery strategy, managing discovery requests and productions.
- Preparing for, taking, and defending depositions.
- Going to court remotely and in person as needed in Cook, Lake, Kane, DuPage, and Will counties.
- Managing or assisting with substantial components of a broad range of litigation and family law matters.
Qualifications/Skills
- No family law experience required; any type of litigation or appellate practice background is acceptable.
- J.D. and license to practice law in Illinois.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, GSuite, and Outlook.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time sensitive documents, and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to travel as needed to courts across the Chicagoland area.
- Must reside in Chicagoland area.
- 3+ years of experience.
