Job description

Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, its goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges worldwide.

We are seeking a Technical Course Developer/Sr. Instructional Designer on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. The Sr. Instructional Designer will be responsible for the analysis, design, and development of coursework aligned to A new blended learning curriculum delivered to new hire field sales representatives. Learning will focus on building selling acumen for our products. This role will work closely with the Commercial Enablement Sr. Instructional Designer and collaborate cross-functionally with leadership teams, sales, operations, marketing, and customer training (65% of time devoted to this project).

Designing blended learning curriculum for marketers and product managers worldwide. This curriculum will be delivered during annual global summits and during the new-hire onboarding training program. Learning content will incorporate key marketing processes designed to drive impact with customers. This role will work closely with the Marketing Training team and collaborate cross-functionally with leadership teams, sales, operations, and marketing functions (35% of time devoted to this project).

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with trainers and stakeholders to implement the blended learning strategy
  • Lead and guide multiple stakeholders/ Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) through needs analysis with software tools such as Qualtrics to determine training needs and identify/ capture learning content
  • Manage the process and design and develop engaging learning using a variety of modalities, including eLearning, videos, social learning, virtual and in-person application-based learning, and performance support materials
  • Develop Salesforce.com (SFDC) eLearning modules and hands-on activities
  • Reimagine and transition existing content into engaging training or learning experiences
  • Follow the ADDIE model, 6D’s, or other learning development methodology and build a project utilizing appropriate templates, project plans, design documents, storyboards
  • Develop leader guides, notes, scripts, or talking points based on modality
  • Conduct peer review and QA of deliverables
  • Participate in process improvement efforts by collaborating with the design team using project management tools such as Smartsheet, JIRA, or Microsoft Planner
  • Proactively communicate task and project status to internal and external stakeholders.

Must Haves:

  • 5+ yrs. experience as an instructional designer
  • 1-2 yrs. experience in biotech or medical device organization preferred
  • 3+ years developing for sales and/or marketing audiences preferred
  • 3+ years developing Salesforce.com (SFDC) or CRM training preferred
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and its application to learning solutions
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience working with SMEs in a team environment
  • Ability to work fast, be adaptable, and change course as needed
  • Graphic design experience to organize content and/or ability to build professional templates incorporating branding a plus.

Education:

  • M.A. Adult Learning preferred
  • Education/ Instructional Design/ Learning Technology degree acceptable
  • College degree required

  • M-F, 40 hours/week. This role is 100% Remote.
