Freelance Creative Copywriter

  • 1099 contract role
  • 5 - 10 hours / week
  • Fully Remote, though contractors based in NY, TX, or FL or with their own EIN are preferred.
  • $35/ hr

Role Description:

We are excited to add a creative, experienced Copywriter with experience writing for a marketing or advertising agency to the team!

The Creative Copywriter will be part of our Subject Matter Expert partner network and will be assigned work based on client & agency needs.

We are looking for someone who is excited to help guide purpose-driven organizations to realize their ambition through marketing. The ideal candidate is skilled and experienced in translating marketing concepts into inspiring words.


  • Write copy for a wide array of clients & deliverables in the B2B, Non-profit, retail, and SAS, and professional services spaces
  • Develop and create effective, engaging copy that:
  • Strategically aligns with the clients business objectives
  • Accurately reflect the client’s brand, who they are and what they stand for
  • Represents our clients in best possible light at all times
  • Concise, grammatically correct, well crafted, and attention grabbing
  • Listen intently to clients’ ideas and brand vision and effectively translate their vision into descriptive brand manifestos and taglines, which can then be converted into their brand voice and ad copy
  • Collaborate with internal partners and clients to determine the conceptual and copy direction of branding and advertising initiatives
  • Write compelling and fresh marketing for new business pitches, print, internal communications, digital and creative comps
  • Present messaging strategies and recommendations to client
  • Additional writing assignments such as blog posts, nurture emails and newsletters on an as needed basis

Qualifications and/or Requirements

  • Contractors based in NY, TX, or FL or with their own EIN are strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred
  • 2-3 years copywriting experience for a marketing or advertising agency
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Strong copywriting skills and knowledge of editing procedures
  • Good people skills and a sense of humor
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite and Mailchimp (or another email marketing platform)
  • Experience with WordPress, Google Analytics, and web CMS is a plus
  • Contractors based in NY, TX, or FL or with their own EIN are preferred.

Hours & Location

We are a virtual company based out of New York City - we serve clients that are located in the EST time-zone and expect our freelance SMEs to be responsive to clients within our normal hours of operation (Monday - Friday, 8:30am EST - 5:30pm EST).

This position is an hourly freelance position. Hours will scale with business needs. We anticipate this role will be 5- 10 hours/week but could scale based on business needs.

This position will be a 1099 Contract position at a $35/hour rate. Ideally, we’d like our candidate to start right away!

$35.00 - $35.00/hour
