Job description

We work closely with partners across Marketing, Design, Merchandising, and Analytics to bring the customer's brand to life for buyers and sellers through a range of formats and media, including SEO content, long-form editorial, seller education, trend reports, and podcasts. About The Role

In this role, you’ll lead our customer's Brand Editorial strategy for trend content and execute trend content across multiple channels. You’ll be responsible for educating sellers on trends and opportunities in advance of key seasonal moments, providing insights sellers can use to develop new products and optimize existing ones. On the buyer side, you’ll ensure key trends are woven into shopping content and marketing, using trend insights to help inform the blog calendar. You’ll ensure our buyer-facing comms reinforce the same trends we encourage sellers to adopt, creatively packaging trend concepts in ways that meet the unique needs of sellers and buyers. You’ll also work closely with PR to best leverage each other’s trend work and tell a cohesive trend story across the client. You’ll execute trend content to be adapted and utilized by partner teams throughout the company, including Community, Affiliates, and International Seller Growth. And you’ll be on the lookout for ways to scale trend content, expand its reach, and leverage its proven success.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee holistic trend content strategy across owned marketing channels
  • Conduct trend research using industry forecasting services such as WGSN alongside our customers internal search data
  • Manage trend content planning across seller and buyer editorial channels
  • Contribute to wider seasonal campaign planning, aligning trend content to Strategic Marketing’s priority categories and opportunity areas (ex: inventory growth goals)
  • Participate in Seller Marketing, Buyer Editorial, and Buyer CRM brainstorms and planning sessions, contributing ideas from a trend lens
  • Track trend content performance, analyze results, and share insights with partners on a monthly, quarterly, and campaign basis
  • Manage seller-facing trend content execution
  • Produce or oversee production of all seller trend content, publishing four quarterly Marketplace Insights reports, and additional reporting as needed
  • Manage cross-channel trend content promotion (Social, CRM, Podcast, Shop Manager dashboard, Community)
  • Support partner teams in adapting and repurposing trend content for their channels (ex: Affiliates, News blog)
  • Write trend-based copy for use in the Forums, on social channels, and email
  • Work with product teams (Explore, our customers Ads) to scale the reach of seller trend insights and leverage its success towards product adoption goals
  • Write our clients Insights trend lessons and edit larger Insights series for Community team
  • Write our customers Summit webinar lessons on trend topics
  • Support international market and audience expansion work with trend content, seeking partner team feedback to customize reporting for specific market needs
  • Create content to support international market-specific educational seller programming (Webinars, inventory growth courses, Summit, virtual market guides)
  • Manage buyer-facing trend content execution
  • Write or consult on buyer-facing trend email copy
  • Write and produce buyer-facing trend blog posts, leveraging SEO best practices where appropriate
  • Pitch SEO content opportunities related to trends

Requirements

Must-Haves

  • 4-10 years relevant experience
  • Ability to use internal and external data and industry reports to identify brand-aligned trends that could thrive within our client and resonate with our audience.
  • This skill includes understanding and using content performance to inform decisions about future content
  • A good eye for quality merchandise and photography and the ability to curate them to tell a compelling visual story.
  • Experience with basic photo editing and producing content in a CMS.
  • Strong collaboration and proactive communication skills.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with an ability to adapt tone and approach for B2B (seller education) and B2C (shopper-facing content) experiences
  • Previous experience writing for both B2B and B2C is required
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience creating scripts for videos, webinars, and other multimedia experiences.
  • Experience writing short-form email marketing copy.
  • Knowledge of SEO keyword research tactics and SEO content production best practices.
