Job description

Senior Account Executive

Your Success Starts Here…

We are a company whose philosophy is quite simple: only by having the highest quality individuals can you produce the highest quality products, combining the best in content, design, technology, and client services.

We recognize individual talent and skill, we encourage personal and professional development and we reward success.

If you believe that you have the talent, enthusiasm and spirit and can match the exacting standards set by our existing employees, then we’d be delighted to welcome you to the team.

We are looking for a talented Senior Account Executive to join our growing team. This position, based in Paramus, NJ with remote capabilities, is a project management position requiring experience in medical communications and pharmaceutical marketing.

The Senior Account Executive (SAE) supports the Account Supervisor in managing the day-to-day activity of the account. As a SAE, you must be a proactive person who can multitask, foster a positive team atmosphere, and be a leader.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Daily management of medical communications programs and recruitment/advertising materials
  • Applies best practices to ensure delivery excellence and client satisfaction
  • Continued development of the broader understanding of the role of the agency in the larger brand marketing process; participates in face-to-face client meeting and engages with clients independently on small tactical initiatives
  • Maintains responsibility for the consistent monitoring of active projects to the client and acts in a support capacity to the day-to-day account lead
  • Attends virtual product theater, advisory board, and speaker training meetings as “onsite” support to ensure meetings are conducted effectively; will travel to attend meetings onsite when live meetings are again planned
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the agency tactics with the understanding about how they are used strategically to support the product’s objective and goals and including the understanding of product data, strategies and marketplace
  • Supports the business team in the development of materials and logistical planning when necessary and provides market research and analysis on specific areas of interest (for example, competitive markets)
  • Tracks budgets regularly and works with supervisors to meet quarterly forecasts
  • Develops written communications (proper client correspondence, competitive analysis) and presents as requested to internal teams and to clients
  • Contributes to internal and external meetings with relevant insights, feedback, and probing questions
  • Manages the timelines and projects through WorkFront and track budgets throughout lifecycle of program
  • Maintains project status reports and assumes ownership of individual projects and workflow
  • Takes a positive, collaborative approach to problem-solving and partners with all departments and understands agency workflows
  • Accepts and prioritizes delegated assignments from senior account staff and identifies internal and external needs that could put timeline in jeopardy and provides resolution

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Minimum three to five years medical education/communications experience, Product Theater experience preferred, but not requirement (speakers’ bureau experience not applicable), preferably in an agency setting
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to ever-changing scenarios
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures adherence to internal processes, PhRMA, ACCME, OIG, and HCC guidelines
  • Responsible for drafting communications to the team on client decisions and updates.
  • Meeting planning, meeting management, customer service, contract negotiation skills, and knowledge of media relations skills a plus

About Us:

We are the medical communications division of a global communications company. We build long-term, trusting partnerships with our clients in the pharmaceutical industry to deliver programs that are professionally developed, appropriately targeted, and flawlessly executed. We are experienced and accomplished in reaching all healthcare disciplines and in delivering content to them in the format they prefer—print, live, web-based, and mobile. In addition, we have extensive experience in creating and sustaining Advisory Boards of top-level experts in a wide variety of therapeutic areas, in primary as well as specialty care; writing and editing slide decks in such areas as infectious diseases, oncology, and neuroscience; and conducting speaker training meetings for key opinion leaders and key product influencers in both live and web-based formats. Our goal is to deliver timely, clinically relevant, scientifically rigorous educational messages in a way that promotes well informed medical decision making.

We have our heart and soul in publishing and media. Since the company was founded half a century ago, it always prided itself on being a highly creative business, with an unrelenting focus on the quality of the products and the people. The philosophy has always been quite simple: only by having the highest quality individuals can you produce the highest quality products, combining the best in content, design, production and customer services. Globalization is opening up the world further and provides many opportunities for growth. We have offices around the world and many of the titles are now truly global brands. We serve a broad spread of business markets, from marketing to medicine to technology along with exhibitions and live events. Predicting the shape of the business in 3, 5, or 10 years is almost impossible; and the unpredictability is part of the appeal. We aim to be the perfect company to work with or for – we have the processes and attitude that ensure quality and consistency, and an entrepreneurial spirit that makes every day rewarding.

An equal opportunity employer, we do not discriminate in hiring or terms and conditions of employment because of an individual's race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, age, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, or any other protected category recognized by state, federal, or local laws.
