What Does an Account Manager Do?
The account manager’s main goal is to keep clients happy and on schedule with their marketing plans each month. Account managers work directly with advisor clients on their marketing strategies, marketing calendars, article creation, editing processes, compliance approvals, deployment of their content, and more.
You will also work as a marketing consultant, pushing the advisor to follow our guidance to do marketing that will move the needle for their firm. The account manager is the relationship owner, and interfaces directly with the advisor (via email, phone calls and Zoom meetings) to establish a connection and positive rapport that will keep the advisor on board long-term.
Depending on the client needs and marketing plan, the account manager may have set deliverables to produce each month or they may get to flex their creativity muscles and develop a marketing strategy tailored specifically for that client.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong professional communication skills
- Marketing experience (Social media, email drip campaigns, etc).
- 3-5 years account manager experience
- Financial services experience a plus
- A minimum of a basic understanding of SEO best practices and keyword rankings
- Ability to oversee Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads and/or Google Ads campaigns
- Ability to effectively communicate and solve complex issues (primarily by email)
- Ability to offer marketing strategy advice
- Phone and Zoom availability required (approx. 1-3 hours per week)
