Job description

As an Account Manager at The Mom Project (TMP), you will be a vital link in connecting our mission-driven work with the companies that recognize the value in our unique offering. You will be responsible for presenting our service offerings to clients and partnering with them to address their hiring challenges, all while ensuring that our talented community of moms and diverse professionals remains at the heart of every solution. This is a fully remote role.

This foundational knowledge will prepare you for your main responsibilities: connecting forward-thinking companies with our diverse talent community, securing partnerships, generating revenue, and ultimately expanding economic opportunities for the talent community we champion.


Responsibilities include:

  • New business development, focusing on attracting and acquiring new clients, cultivating strong relationships, and driving long-term retention.
  • Increase sales and market share by strategically managing assigned accounts and identifying new business within existing accounts.
  • Drive revenue growth by achieving defined activity metrics and executing against an assigned target list.
  • Nurture and maintain strong, consultative relationships with existing clients, serving as a trusted partner.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through thoughtful prospecting and outreach, driven by the desire to expand opportunities for our talent.
  • Set up and conduct virtual meetings with key decision-makers to champion our mission and value.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute strategies that best service accounts and drive impact.
  • Prepare and present tailored sales information and effective proposals that align client needs with the strengths of our talent community.
  • Achieve sales performance goals, knowing that your success directly contributes to creating more economic opportunity for our community.
  • Target mid-to-large sized opportunities that require an inquisitive sales approach focused on solving talent gaps with purpose.
  • Partner closely with the Delivery team to ensure well-aligned Talent is presented to fulfill client needs, fostering successful, long-term matches.

Role Requirements and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a B2B sales development role, within the staffing industry, demonstrating a commitment to connecting talent with new employment opportunities. Experience selling and/or account management in a talent marketplace, or selling SaaS subscriptions in addition to staffing preferred.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients through strategic meetings, championing flexible work and empowering professionals in our talent community.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills which can be leveraged in areas of negotiation.
  • Experience with cold-calling and prospecting, with a results-driven and process-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables simultaneously, showcasing exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage and set priorities to achieve goals based on business needs.
  • A strong propensity to learn and adapt to ongoing changes, viewing challenges as opportunities to better support our mission and talent.
  • A sense of urgency, excellent presentation skills, and a high standard of professionalism in all interactions.
  • The ability to overcome obstacles without becoming discouraged and readily collaborate with others to accomplish goals.
  • Experience and demonstrated success selling in a fully virtual environment/selling virtually to clients. The Mom Project is a fully remote environment.

Hours and Location

  • Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week
  • Fully remote for US based candidates

  • Base salary range - $50,000 - 65,000

This position offers a defined salary range, with compensation determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity, and most successful candidates are typically hired at or near the median. Total compensation also includes a competitive commission package.
