We are seeking an Payroll Accounting Specialist on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote in PST hours.
This role will provide senior-level accounting support during a transition period. The focus will be on payroll-related closing tasks, reconciliations, reporting, allocations, and other ad-hoc responsibilities as needed. The ideal candidate is a flexible, self-starting professional who can handle complex tasks with limited supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Support payroll-related accounting activities, including reconciliations and allocations.
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end closing tasks such as booking accruals, journal entries, and accrued expenses.
- Prepare and review financial reporting within Workday.
- Analyze and validate data to support accurate payroll and expense reporting.
- Provide ad-hoc support on accounting tasks during team transitions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues and ensure compliance with policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including senior-level responsibilities.
- Strong experience with payroll accounting, closing tasks, and reconciliations.
- Hands-on Workday experience with reporting capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- CPA designation (preferred)
- Experience in publicly traded or tech companies. (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and manage complex tasks with minimal oversight.
- Self-starter and problem solver with strong initiative.
- Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborative, team-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
