We are seeking an Accountant on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is on-site in Chicago, IL.


Shift: M-F, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST



Responsibilities:

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for the Americas Work Dynamics business, ensuring deadlines are met and issues are resolved promptly
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for key and non-key accounts and document required adjustments to maintain financial accuracy
  • Perform periodic and ad-hoc financial analysis comparing current results to prior periods and document findings for management review
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition and contract setup in accordance with ASC 606 across complex service agreements
  • Apply financial policies and procedures while identifying, escalating, and recommending solutions for accounting inconsistencies or issues
  • Execute internal controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and support the resolution of control deficiencies
  • Partner with business operations teams to support growth initiatives while identifying opportunities to centralize and streamline accounting processes
  • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives by driving process improvements and supporting scalable accounting operations
  • Support internal and external audits through documentation, analysis, and issue resolution


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in complex business environments
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements
  • Ability to communicate accounting issues and recommendations effectively to leadership
  • Strong attention to detail with analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including advanced financial analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience working in matrixed organizations
  • Collaborative work style with high energy and enthusiasm for controllership functions

Preferred

  • CPA certification or active progress toward CPA designation
  • Public accounting experience, particularly supporting real estate or professional services clients
  • Experience preparing financial statements or reporting for SEC registrants
  • Background in accounting process improvement and best practice implementation
  • Experience mentoring or onboarding team members
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize complex information
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits, including workpaper preparation
