Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee. The financial security company provides consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning and business planning. Its products include life insurance, permanent life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance; annuities; investments; and investment advisory products and services.


Our customer is looking for a Accountant I on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is 100% remote.


Responsibilities:

  • Accountant is to perform transactional accounting for field offices.
  • Accountant will work in JD Edwards processing vouchers, entering journal entries, processing commissions and period closing reconciliations on a monthly basis.
  • They will also be involved in payroll, 1099 processing, training of new contractors, maintaining relationships with offices assigned and office specific accounting projects.


Qualifications

  • Must be able to commit to the role for at least a year.
  • It is necessary to know how to do journal entries(credits/debits)
  • Understand accounting principles and a Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Be able to organize and prioritize their task while working in dynamic environment
  • Know how to work with Excel: ability to maintain and manipulate a worksheet accuratel
  • Experience with Email and Calendaring
  • Formal Accounting education
