We help our clients grow using story-led sales and marketing strategies to help them find their ideal investors. Having raised billions for boutiques, we are small (under 20 employees) but mighty. We are headquartered in Newport, RI.

About the Role
You are a numbers wiz, a spreadsheet ninja, a fan of tech that makes life easier. You like things organized and simple – even if they are complex at their core. You understand the importance of using past data to inform future decisions. You make dollars make sense. You are our Accounting Manager, reporting to the CEO’s office. Your position is responsible for the execution, supervision, and monitoring of the day-to-day activities in the Accounting & HR Departments but you know that really means… you strive to improve profit while helping your team sleep well at night.
On any given day, you might dominate one (or more) of the follow responsibilities:
- Prepare month end close and financial statements with all related schedules
- Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bookkeeper and other admin support
- Manage and maintain the general ledger
- Prepare annual budget and forecast w/ outsourced CFO and external CPA
- Prepare the monthly comparison between budget and actuals; analyze deviations to help management take the right action
- Oversee bi-weekly cash forecast and monitor cash accounts
- Review all bank reconciliations for accuracy
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date accrual reporting in Quickbooks
- Calculate monthly/quarterly commissions
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting and filing
- Oversee ADP and monitor platform with all updates to HR & Payroll information
- Review and maintain all payroll changes such as salaries, tax setup, benefits, etc
- Execute bi-weekly payroll and check wage and tax reports for accuracy
- Execute monthly expense reimbursements
- Post payroll journal entries to accounting system
- Oversee 401K plan and assist with annual review of medical plan
- Assist with the annual review/renewal of all commercial insurance
- Other projects as assigned
About You
- Desired qualifications/characteristics include:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting required
- 3+ years of experience in financial reporting and analysis
- Good computer proficiency in all Microsoft applications
- Experience with QuickBooks accounting software required and Expensify a +
- Payroll and Human Resource experience
- Exceptional people skills, the ability to create and maintain productive work relationships with people who are not used to working with finance teams.
- Ability to manage fast-paced work processes and thrive in a dynamic and growing organization with lean structure.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills but also willing to do the work (not just think about the work)
- Self -driven with ability to multi-task in a deadlines-oriented environment
- Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for digitizing/automating/standardizing processes
- Demonstrates initiative and creativity in achieving results
- Comfortable with accountability and KPIs
- Good sense of humor
