Job description

Job Title: Administrative Director

Reports to: rabbi primarily and Leadership secondarily

Status: Part-Time, exempt position

A Reform synagogue of approximately 170 households located in

Denver’s Park Hill neighborhood. Established in the mid-1950’s, we are a warm, vibrant, intimate and contemporary Jewish community.

About this role: The Administrative Director is the important first point of contact for

Members and prospective members. This role works directly with the

Rabbi, staff, Board and other volunteers to implement the mission, vision, and goals of the congregation. This role helps create a caring, collaborative environment that

optimizes the experience of our members and staff.

The ideal candidate:

? is a creative problem-solver and has experience managing organizations - including communications, finance and people

? cares both about getting things done and how they are done

? is an experienced communicator, and understands how an organization can leverage website and social media to meet its communication goals and improve its reach

? understands the importance of technology, systems and budgets, and has created and overseen budgets

? has 5+ years of experience managing within an organization - the people, the programs and the finances

? understands or is open to learning about Jewish and Reform customs, practices, and holidays

Responsibilities:

? Administrative responsibilities

? Manage the day to day operations of Temple

? Recruit, hire, and supervise administrative staff

? Promote effective communication among the board, committees, clergy, staff, and congregation.

? Brief clergy and Leadership on operational matters.

? Leadership responsibilities - liaise with the board, rabbi, staff and congregation

? Membership responsibilities

? Monitor and report on Temple membership roster

? Help enroll new members

? Collaborate with the board to manage membership pledge collection

? Address congregational concerns

? Facilities responsibilities - Coordinate with Montview Presbyterian Church on use of space, security, etc.

? Programmatic responsibilities

? Oversee High Holy Days and Passover observance

? Collaborate with Rabbi Mo & laity on community programming

? Communications and Tech responsibilities - manage Temple online communications, calendar and website

? Financial responsibilities:

? Ensure sound financial management for the synagogue

? Use appropriate financial systems and controls to ensure legal compliance.

? Partner with staff and Treasurer to create and manage the budget, providing updates to the Board

? Manage bookkeeping / accounting staff

Compensation: Flexible schedule includes some evenings / weekends for Jewish holidays, Shabbat services, and leadership meetings. Salary range is $35K-40K.
