Job description
Our client is a real estate magazine and website dedicated to commercial real estate in the Garden State (New Jersey). It has been so successful that they now want to launch a Southern Jersey edition. They are seeking to grow the sales team with a motivated, dedicated and creative account executive in the South Jersey area. The current sales force of three people cannot handle all the requests to advertise we are getting, and we are now expanding to the South Jersey area.
This is a remote position with occasional travel for client meetings and events, providing their team with flexibility and the ability to work without a typical commute.
As the voice of New Jersey’s dynamic and affluent commercial real estate sector, the magazine reaches more than 20,000 subscribers in total between the monthly magazine and daily email blasts. The founder and publisher has been a commercial real estate owner and investor in New Jersey for more than 50 years and has worked with virtually every influential real estate executive in the state.
To help continue growth, they are looking for an experienced account executive with a background in commercial real estate, to sell advertising and partnerships in the monthly magazine, digital platforms and growing events calendar. Most leads are executives in the New Jersey commercial real estate industry.
Almost every day they get an email request from a new customer to advertise. This is not your typical “cold calling” sales position.
The goal is to help real estate professionals and those who service the industry grow their business by reaching their peers, competitors and potential business partners.
Requirements:
- A vision to help grow New Jersey’s most exciting commercial real estate publication
- Generate revenue by soliciting advertising contracts via appointments, events, following up on leads, referrals and prospecting ads from other publications and sources
- Ideas for new revenue generation
- The ability to understand and sell both print and digital media and event sponsorships
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to maintain accounts over time
- An innovative, entrepreneurial approach to publishing
- Ability to interact with executives, marketing specialists and third-party agencies
- The successful candidate will have an attractive commission plan that pays double-digit percentages with unlimited potential. There is no cap on this plan.
