Job description

Our Customer was founded in 1982 in an effort to create a solid accounting firm headed by native professionals. They later branched out to other services, which is now a multinational professional services network with offices in over 150 countries and territories around the world. With more than 100,000 professionals, they provide audit and assurance, tax, consulting, and risk and financial advisory services to a broad cross-section of the largest corporations and governmental agencies.


We are seeking an Agile Scrum Master on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. This role is on-site in Cockeysville, MD.


This role needs to have good development knowledge & be able to hold technical conversations. Scrum master is being brought on for the development of back-end integration APIs using NodeJS, Kafka, Lambda & EKS.



Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and sprint demos. Collaborate with Product Owners to define and prioritize the backlog, while ensuring the team adheres to agile principles and embraces a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Utilize JIRA to track project progress, manage tasks, and maintain transparency. Generate and share JIRA statistics and reports that provide insights into team performance, sprint velocity, and overall project health. Ensure team members provide accurate and timely ticket updates.
  • Gather and report on agreed agile metrics to the company and client leadership. Continuously monitor risks and dependencies, provide visibility into issues, and guide the team to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Act as a liaison for the offshore team on technical issues, collaborating with client stakeholders to resolve blockers efficiently.
  • Represent the team during technical conversations in U.S. hours, coordinating closely with tech leads based in India.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration between U.S. and offshore teams, actively resolving issues and removing impediments.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Proven Scrum Master experience, preferably with distributed/global teams.
  • Background in cloud environments and experience supporting full-stack software development or APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with Node.js (preferred).
  • Familiarity with AWS, Kafka, Node.js, TypeScript, Lambda, and MongoDB.
  • Knowledge of the insurance domain (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones.
