ROLE SUMMARY
Monitoring of activity, detection, and documentation of suspicious activity for Correspondent Banking accounts and the subsequent drafting of suspicious activity reports.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
The AML Analyst/Investigator is responsible for conducting secondary review of Correspondent Banking alerts/cases sent for escalation for possible violations of the Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act or securities regulations and all matters related to potential money laundering and terrorist financing. Conducts transaction reviews of clients. Support senior staff in performing various global AML surveillance and monitoring and reporting of suspicious activity. Recommend for filing suspicious activity reports (SARs) and drafting the SARs as needed, and ensuring complete documentation is secured and maintained as required by law. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Establishing effective working relationships with client teams and client stakeholders.
- Demonstrating an understanding of applicable AML laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Applying a working knowledge of and practical experience with correspondent banking, transaction monitoring systems, and SAR files.
- Meeting and production targets and quality standards with increasing expectations
- Maintaining a strong level of independence and organizational and time management skills with a high focus on attention to detail.
- Understanding and applying procedures, including procedural changes throughout the engagement, into the investigation and review.
- Analyzing due diligence, transactional data, historical data, internal and external searches in accordance with leading practices and bank's policy and procedures.
- Articulating findings in a clear, concise manner that considers the client’s risk appetite.
- Review conducted investigations of automated suspicious activity alerts, documented narratives on investigative findings, and determining whether the alert was dispositioned properly for escalation and requires further action or closure.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to synthesize investigative findings into concise and factually accurate SARs
