Job description

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the designer to develop construction drawings and/or renderings for various projects.

  • Produce accurate and detailed technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD or Revit) software based off of designers preliminary design sketches for conceptual analysis phase.
  • Collaborate with the interior designer to understand project requirements. Prepare and modify construction drawing sets including plans, elevations, finish and electrical plans and schedules.
  • Review and revise drawings as necessary, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Maintain an organized library of drawings and project files.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to clarify project details and requirements.
  • Create CAD (or Revit) drawings ready for permitting and construction
  • Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists
  • Estimate material and production costs for designs (BIM take-offs)
  • Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations
  • Developing technical reports for HOA and construction team

Requirements/Qualifications:

Proven experience as a drafter with a strong portfolio of past work.

Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software. Revit is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.

Familiarity with drafting standards and best practices

Ability to interpret and understand architectural and engineering drawings.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Residential construction knowledge in the U.S.

Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time

Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

Familiarity with 3D modeling tools

BSc in Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design or degree from a technical college

Additional certification from the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) is a plus

Time management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframe. Ability to meet deadlines.

Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports

Interpersonal skills to work within a team

Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions

Job Type: Part-time, contracted
