- Remote
Job description
Our Customer’s mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. Through their family of apps and services, they are building a different kind of company that connects billions of people around the world, gives them ways to share what matters most to them, and helps bring people closer together.
We are seeking an Art Director on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote.
This role is dedicated to translating early-stage, emerging technology ideas into captivating visuals, videos, and presentations that inspire both internal and external audiences. Working on the bleeding edge of XR and spatial computing, you’ll collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and researchers to tell the story of what’s next. This is an opportunity to shape the visual language of future technologies before they reach the world.
Responsibilities:
- Create compelling, memorable videos to showcase prototypes, work-in-progress demos, and future scenarios—often from limited source material, requiring resourcefulness and imagination.
- Design high-impact presentation templates and decks that convey complex ideas with clarity and visual punch.
- Produce polished concept art and visual comps to articulate early-stage ideas and help secure alignment and investment across teams.
- Develop visually striking data visualizations that make complex information feel narrative, meaningful, and simple.
- Experiment with AI design tooling to find efficiencies and ways to scale your impact.
- Collaborate with a small, cross-functional team at the forefront of XR and spatial computing to shape the look and feel of projects from inception to showcase.
- Champion a creative, experimental approach to storytelling—pushing the boundaries of format, medium, and style.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in design, art direction, or visual storytelling across multiple media (video, graphic design, presentation design, concept art).
- Expertise with industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere) and presentation tools (Keynote, Google Slides, PowerPoint).
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of work from high-polish visuals to scrappy, fast-turnaround micro-content.
- Experience crafting compelling visual narratives for technology products, emerging platforms, or innovation concepts.
- Ability to work independently and in tight collaboration with technical and creative partners in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, composition, and visual hierarchy.
Preferred:
- Experience with XR, spatial computing, gaming, or immersive media.
- Familiarity with 3D tools (e.g., Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya, Unreal Engine) for motion, visualization, or prototyping.
- Strong storytelling instincts and the ability to adapt tone and style to diverse audiences.
- Comfort working in ambiguous, early-stage project environments where ideas evolve quickly.
We offer a competitive salary range for this position. Most candidates who join our team are hired at the median of this range, ensuring fair and equitable compensation based on experience and qualifications.
