Job description
I practice family law in Colorado (divorce, custody, guardianships, marital agreements, etc.). I started my firm in January 2023 after working in "big law" for 20 years (and for 10 years prior to that at smaller firms and at the Colorado AG's office). I decided that it was either time to leave big law to start my own firm or to accept that I would eventually retire from big law. I went with the former and have never looked back.
I love the freedom and rewards that come with owning my own firm. I have been so busy that, embarrassingly, I have not even finished building out my website. It really is top of my admin to-do list.
I have a great paralegal. My associate (who was with me for a year) has decided to explore other areas of law. I had a contract associate, as well, who decided to take some time off while she gets settled in Ohio where one of her daughters is attending a select music program. Thus, I am in great need of an associate to support my practice.
I strive to make my firm a passionate, caring and fun family law practice. Yes, fun. If we aren't having fun, what's the point? This does not mean we don't take our client's needs very seriously and remain steadfast in providing each client the most personable and excellent legal representation possible. It just means that we need to bring fun and laughter into the workplace to balance out the stress that family law places on all of us. We believe that behind every case is a human story—sometimes messy, always important—and we’re looking for someone who shares that belief.
If you are someone who strives to be and do your best every day, who seeks to support a thriving law practice, who is personable and confident (but not egotistical), and who finds joy in helping people through their toughest life moments, then this may be a great fit for you.
