We are seeking an Associate Director, Portfolio Management, on a contract basis to help support our Customer’s business needs. This role is hybrid (4 days on-site and 1 day remote/week) in Dallas, TX.
This role supports the lead Portfolio Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of various Multi-Fund Strategies within a global real estate investment platform.
These Multi-Fund Strategies are proprietary fund-of-funds structures that invest in underlying real estate funds and are designed to expand access to new global distribution channels. As a high-growth segment of the business, these strategies maintain significant visibility with senior leadership.
This role plays a key part in supporting portfolio operations, coordination, reporting, and strategic initiatives tied to the continued expansion of the Multi-Fund platform.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of fund management and operations across multi-fund and hybrid real estate investment products
- Maintain responsibility for fund databases and financial models used for portfolio analysis, client reporting, and marketing communications
- Coordinate and manage reporting processes for multiple funds, including collaboration with global fund teams
- Prepare quarterly reports, marketing presentations, and internal materials
- Drive fund-level forecasting, portfolio optimization, and performance attribution analysis
- Support management of fund liquidity, capital allocations, and investor queues
- Lead or contribute to ad hoc initiatives, including fund launches, distributor onboarding, RFPs, DDQs, and investor or consultant requests
- Develop working knowledge of fund objectives, investment guidelines, and positioning to assess transaction impacts
- Manage fund operations and execute transactions when the lead portfolio manager is unavailable
- Participate in the development and execution of investment plans, steering committee materials, and senior management presentations
- Conduct investor update presentations and client marketing meetings independently as expertise develops
- Support additional projects and responsibilities as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree required; Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in a real estate investment environment
- Strong understanding of real estate investment concepts and accounting principles
- Knowledge of fund management and global investment structures preferred
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to learn and adapt to new financial systems and software tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in team-oriented environments
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with a strong sense of urgency
