Job description

Our Customer is a technology company that connects people with the best of their neighborhoods across the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Germany. They enable local businesses to meet consumers’ needs of ease and convenience, and, in turn, generate new ways for people to earn, work, and live. By building the last-mile logistics infrastructure for local commerce, they’re fulfilling our mission to grow and empower local economies.

We are seeking an Associate, Growth Merchant Lead on a contract basis to drive new business acquisition across emerging, underserved, and rural markets.

This role is responsible for winning new business across an assigned geography and contributing to overall growth strategy. The position involves traveling to emerging markets and managing a largely transactional deal cycle to drive new partnerships with top local and regional restaurants.

This role partners closely with a Regional Sales Manager on the Outside Sales team, providing direct access to market and partnership insights, as well as sales tools such as sales sheets, gift cards, business cards, and related resources. This is a field sales position, with most transactions conducted face-to-face.

This role is on-site in Spokane, WA, with 50% travel; a mix of same-day travel (within 2 hours), occasional overnights, long drive days, or flights.

Compensation: Base pay + uncapped commission; OTE averages ~$1,750/month in commissions.

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to and expand the company’s footprint in emerging and untapped markets, primarily in rural areas
  • Prospect, engage, and sell restaurant owners on the value of partnering with the platform
  • Negotiate revenue share agreements with restaurant partners
  • Manage a fast-paced, transactional sales cycle and close new business within days
  • Execute inside and outside sales strategies to consistently meet or exceed acquisition goals

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2.5+ years of experience in a closing sales role or related sales experience
  • 2 years of successful sales experience selling to SMB (especially restaurants or food/beverage)
  • Ability and willingness to travel to destination markets at least 50% of the time
  • Strong execution skills in both inside and field sales environments
  • Strategic and efficient approach to prospecting and deal execution
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and iterate scalable sales strategies and playbooks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience selling to small businesses or local merchants
  • Experience working in high-velocity or transactional sales environments

We offer a competitive salary range for this position. Most candidates who join our team are hired at the median of this range, ensuring fair and equitable compensation based on experience and qualifications.
