Job description

Our Customer is a technology company that connects people with the best of their neighborhoods across the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Germany. They enable local businesses to meet consumers’ needs of ease and convenience, and, in turn, generate new ways for people to earn, work, and live. By building the last-mile logistics infrastructure for local commerce, they’re fulfilling our mission to grow and empower local economies.

We are seeking an Associate, Growth Merchant Lead on a contract basis to drive new business acquisition across emerging, underserved, and rural markets. This field-heavy role focuses on building new partnerships with local and regional restaurants through a fast-paced, transactional sales cycle. The position requires extensive travel, strong closing skills, and a strategic approach to market expansion.

This role is on-site in Oklahoma City, OK, with 50% travel; a mix of same-day travel (within 2 hours), occasional overnights, long drive days, or flights.

Compensation: Base pay + uncapped commission; OTE averages ~$1,750/month in commissions.

Responsibilities:

  • Travel across assigned emerging markets to expand footprint and acquire new restaurant partnerships.
  • Sell restaurant owners on the value proposition of partnering with the platform and negotiate revenue-share agreements.
  • Manage a fast-paced, transactional deal cycle and close new business quickly, often within days.
  • Coordinate efforts with the Regional Sales Manager to leverage market insights, sales materials, and available tools.
  • Conduct face-to-face outreach, meetings, and sales presentations with business owners.
  • Use field insights to contribute to growth strategies and scalable playbooks.
  • Maintain travel compliance and follow field sales processes and reporting requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2.5+ years of sales experience in a closing or quota-carrying role, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel at least 50% of the time, including rural markets, long drive days, and occasional overnight stays.
  • Experience using a blend of inside and outside sales tactics to achieve goals.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic, efficient, and organized work style.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and refine scalable sales approaches.

Preferred:

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, field-driven environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously while representing the brand professionally in the market.
  • Strong adaptability and willingness to enter untapped or less-defined markets.

We offer a competitive salary range for this position. Most candidates who join our team are hired at the median of this range, ensuring fair and equitable compensation based on experience and qualifications.
