Job description

A partner of The Mom Project in the automotive industry is seeking a contract Associate Propulsion Product Analyst to help support their business needs.


The Associate Propulsion Product Analyst supports the Product Management team in driving profitable growth of Propulsion and Performance parts. This role focuses on data-driven decision making, using advanced analytical skills and strong business acumen to inform pricing, inventory, and portfolio strategies across engines, transmissions, and related components.



Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced Excel data analysis to support daily operations and strategic decision-making
  • Prepare backorder and product availability reports in partnership with supply chain teams, including root cause analysis and recovery timelines
  • Use business intelligence dashboards to visualize performance and communicate insights
  • Support pricing activities, including price setting, price changes, and competitive benchmarking
  • Analyze sales performance, retention periods, pricing, competition, and margin to support parts business decisions
  • Assist with core product management activities, including return tracking, issue identification, and recovery recommendations
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to product management teams to optimize portfolio performance
  • Navigate sales and after-sales systems to retrieve, validate, and analyze data
  • Prepare analysis summaries and meeting recaps to align stakeholders and support decision-making
  • Communicate complex analyses in clear, concise formats tailored to field teams, leadership, and product stakeholders
  • Partner with field teams and dealers to gather feedback, understand issues, and support resolution plans


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data cleansing, and large dataset analysis
  • Familiarity with AI tools to improve reporting efficiency and communication workflows
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience within the automotive industry, such as with an OEM, supplier, or dealership
  • Ability to translate complex problems and analyses into clear, actionable insights
  • Comfort working through ambiguity and adapting quickly to changing priorities or market conditions
  • Strong customer-centric mindset with decisions grounded in dealer and end-customer impact
  • Ability to present findings to cross-functional stakeholders and lead meetings as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with automotive customer care or after-sales processes and systems
  • Working knowledge of powertrain systems, including engines, transmissions, or performance parts
  • Strong alignment with accountability, customer focus, and collaborative teamwork values
  • Experience using sales and after-sales platforms, such as electronic parts catalogs or repair systems


Hours and Location:

  • M-F, 40 hours/week
  • Hybrid in Warren, MI - 3 days on-site and 2 days remote/week
