Job description

Our customer is a global provider of information-based analytics and decision tools for professional and business customers. They help researchers make new discoveries, doctors and nurses improve the lives of patients, and lawyers develop winning strategies. They prevent online fraud and money laundering and help insurance companies evaluate and predict risk. Their events combine in-person and digital experiences to help customers learn about markets, source products and complete transactions. In short, they enable customers to make better decisions, get better results and be more productive.

We are seeking an Attorney Editor (Trusts & Estates) on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This position will require reviewing and updating practical guidance and forms, an online legal product for attorneys, and creating new content, as needed. This is a contract position involving flexible hours (assignments can be completed as your schedule permits, as long as the deadline is met). This role is 100% remote in Georgia.

What You'll Do:

  • Draft, review, and revise practical guidance articles on trusts and estates and probate topics
  • Review and update wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related estate planning documents
  • Draft new forms, checklists, charts, and other how-to guidance on estate planning topics, as needed
  • Supplement existing documents with state-specific practical guidance based on state law, local custom, and legal practice experience
Must-Haves:
  • A Law degree from an accredited law school
  • Member, in good standing, of the Georgia State Bar
  • 5+ years of experience as a practicing trusts and estates attorney
  • Substantive experience drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and other estate planning documents.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and legal research skills
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Word with track changes and conducting online research
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to complete assigned projects by prescribed deadlines
  • Organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage tasks effectively
