We are seeking an AV Systems Engineer (Q-SYS & Automation) on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs.
This position will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the enterprise AV environment across multiple offices. This role focuses on operational reliability, system monitoring, and control system support, ensuring conference room technology functions consistently and issues are identified and resolved before impacting employees.
You will support an AV environment that includes approximately 200 Zoom Rooms and 25 Integrated AV room systems (Q-SYS) across portfolios.
This is a hands-on technical role that blends AV systems knowledge with scripting, automation, and troubleshooting to maintain a high-quality employee experience. This role includes on-site, in-person AV support and participation in system installations and room deployments.
This is a hybrid role requiring candidates to be based in Seattle, with onsite work in the Seattle office for installations and events, and remote work during non-event periods.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support for Zoom Rooms and AV systems
- Monitor system health and respond to incidents impacting AV and conferencing systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve AV hardware, software, and network-related issues (remote and onsite)
- Support hybrid meetings and internal events to ensure seamless execution
- Maintain and update Q-SYS control system configurations across multiple rooms
- Troubleshoot AV control systems, including audio, video, and device integrations
- Deploy and validate configuration updates to ensure consistent system performance
- Support AV monitoring, alerting, and logging systems; investigate alerts and system logs
- Assist in maintaining integrations with tools such as Slack and Splunk
- Support scripting and automation for AV monitoring and management workflows
- Manage alert pipelines and system integrations (e.g., webhooks, AWS Lambda)
- Document system behavior, troubleshooting steps, and known issues
- Collaborate with Workplace, IT, Networking, and Infrastructure teams to resolve issues and improve system reliability
- Provide on-site AV support, including installations, testing, and troubleshooting for conference rooms and event spaces
- Assist in evaluating and improving AV systems, alerting frameworks, and backend configurations
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience supporting AV systems, IT systems, or similar technical environments
- Experience with conferencing technologies such as Zoom Rooms and AV control systems
- Strong experience with Q-SYS (required), including Lua and JSON scripting
- Basic scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, Node.js, or similar)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network systems
- Experience with monitoring or observability tools (e.g., Splunk, logging/alerting systems)
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users
- Hands-on experience with AV installations, cabling, and troubleshooting
- Customer-focused mindset with attention to detail and reliability
- Comfortable supporting onsite installations, events, and in-room troubleshooting
- Experience with software engineering concepts and Q-SYS environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting live events or production environments
- Familiarity with Zoom production studios
- Experience with AV hardware such as Logitech or Neat
- Familiarity with GitLab or version control tools
