Job description

  • Blog Copywriter — SEO
  • Remote / Contract
  • Part-time position with a range around $30 / hour
  • Role starting month to month, with opportunity to extend based on performance

Our client is seeking an entrepreneurial, innovative SEO content writer with expertise in family, parenting, and finance topics to join the team. They are looking for someone excited to work on an in-house content start-up.. Reporting to the Website GM, you’ll research engaging, high-volume search queries, conceptualize and write short- and long-form content, bolster that content with your own expertise and brand voice, and integrate it into our growing content catalog. Their goal is to be a primary informational stop for parents looking for advice, guidance, and resources on family, money, and more.

This role is a fully-remote, part-time, contract position starting with a month-long contract with the opportunity to extend the contract based on performance. They anticipate that you will work approximately 20 hours / week. The Blog Copywriter's role is to research, strategize, and write content centered on parenting and family, personal finance, and other general lifestyle topics, focusing on grammatical and factual accuracy while ensuring the unique brand tone and voice comes through consistently. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to write and edit content in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, ensuring deadlines are met in a timely manner.

Candidates for this role should be strong editors, writers, and communicators across a wide range of topics including parenting, finance, and more. Candidates should have proficiency with tools such as the Google Docs Suite and project management systems like Asana. Candidates with experience in SEO research and editorial SEO content writing and editing are strongly preferred.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with the SEO and AI Content team on content strategy and keyword research
  • Develop and write high-quality, SEO-optimized content for blog
  • Quickly learn and master tone of voice and style guide and execute that voice across content
  • Collaborate with XFN teams (copy, SEO, design, web) on production timelines and communicate with teams to ensure content is published on time
  • Drive process efficiencies and improve documentation

What you should bring:

  • Experience in editorial SEO writing or editing in the parenting, general lifestyle, or personal finance space is a plus
  • Proven track record of writing high-quality, conversion-focused content that is optimized for SEO (title tag, meta description, URL, body copy, internal linking etc.)
  • Uncompromising precision and attention to detail
  • Strong research skills and the ability to assess the credibility of sources
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal
  • Ability to work with weekly deadlines and turn content around quickly
  • Must work well in a remote team environment
  • Experience with SEMrush Writing Assistant or similar SEO tools to optimize content for search engine performance, ensuring adherence to best practices for keyword integration, readability, and SEO ranking factors
Nice-to-have skills:
  • Experience in uploading content to a CMS, like Contentful or Wordpress
  • Experience in project management, leveraging tools such as Asana and Slack
  • Familiarity with AP or Chicago Style a plus
  • Experience using AI tools to generate content
