Job description
Our Client is looking for an experienced professional to join their 501-(3)(c) organization as a
bookkeeper. As part of their team, you will manage all company ledgers, bank
reconciliations and reconcile invoices, accounts payable, accounts receivable, assist
with grant management and responsible for monthly end closing. The ideal candidate
needs to pay attention to detail. Additionally, you will assist leadership with reporting
and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has several years of prior non-profit
bookkeeping experience, and strong knowledge of QuickBooks software.
Role: Hybrid will be considered. Candidate should be within commuting distance of Dedham, MA
Bookkeeper Duties and Responsibilities
- Process payroll and write journal entries
- Process accounts payable and receivable
- Reconcile Inventory
- Prepare deposits and reconcile company ledgers
- Track expenses and log against active grants when appropriate
- Perform account reconciliations and invoicing
- Apply knowledge of accounting and regulatory standards
- Assist in preparing audit schedules
Full Charge Bookkeeper Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
- (preferred)
- Prior experience with nonprofit accounting or bookkeeping
- Excellent computer proficiency
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail is essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel and Word)
- 6 to 10 years’ experience with QuickBooks nonprofit accounting
- Experience with Paychex, Bill.com, and expense management systems a plus
- Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, clients, and vendors is required. Salary is commensurate with experience.
