Job description

The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client, a leading provider of archival art services, located in Old Town Alexandria, VA! They are looking for a Bookkeeper / Office Manager to provide professional bookkeeping services and light office management in a very relaxed and highly creative environment with an amazing staff and the best clients. The ideal candidate has professional bookkeeping experience using QuickBooks, is detail-oriented, and possesses excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Core responsibilities

  • Provide all bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks, including:
    • Invoicing and generating financial reports
    • Filing sales taxes
    • Managing accounts payable and receivable
    • Processing vendor payments
    • Summarizing all transactions for accountant
  • Handle light office duties such as:
    • Answering phones
    • Placing orders
    • Helping to organize deliveries
    • Filing and other administrative tasks

Qualifications/Skills

  • Professional bookkeeping experience using QuickBooks
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Creative problem-solver with superb interpersonal skills
  • Passion for art and art history a plus
  • Knowledge of or personal experience in studio art, with broad familiarity of artist materials, printing methods, photography, painting, etc.
  • Familiarity with American history, significant historical documents, and collections
  • Prior professional framing design experience
  • Working knowledge of paper and painting conservation methods
