We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeping and Payroll Specialist to join our team.

Job Description: We are looking for a Bookkeeping and Payroll Specialist with 2-4 years of experience in the accounting field. In this role, you will manage bookkeeping and payroll processes exclusively for our small and mid-sized business clients. You will help our clients understand their numbers, create simple accounting systems, and ensure they run successful, profitable businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process payroll for clients accurately and on time.
  2. Maintain and update financial records for clients, including ledgers, invoices, and receipts.
  3. Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial transactions are recorded properly for clients.
  4. Assist with the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for clients.
  5. Manage accounts payable and receivable for clients.
  6. Ensure compliance with GAAP principles, accounting policies, and procedures for clients.
  7. Work with our cross-functional team on projects, implementation, and accounting process development.
  8. Identify and utilize technologies to improve clients’ accounting processes.
  9. Build and document best practices for standard operating procedures (SOPs) for clients.

Qualifications:

  1. 2-4 years of experience in the accounting field.
  2. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  3. Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll best practices.
  4. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. High level of integrity and trustworthiness.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Certification in bookkeeping or payroll (e.g., CPB, CPP).
  3. Experience with public accounting is a plus.
  4. Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks, including third-party apps (e.g., Shopify, FullCircle).
