We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeping and Payroll Specialist to join our team.
Job Description: We are looking for a Bookkeeping and Payroll Specialist with 2-4 years of experience in the accounting field. In this role, you will manage bookkeeping and payroll processes exclusively for our small and mid-sized business clients. You will help our clients understand their numbers, create simple accounting systems, and ensure they run successful, profitable businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for clients accurately and on time.
- Maintain and update financial records for clients, including ledgers, invoices, and receipts.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial transactions are recorded properly for clients.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for clients.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable for clients.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles, accounting policies, and procedures for clients.
- Work with our cross-functional team on projects, implementation, and accounting process development.
- Identify and utilize technologies to improve clients’ accounting processes.
- Build and document best practices for standard operating procedures (SOPs) for clients.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in the accounting field.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certification in bookkeeping or payroll (e.g., CPB, CPP).
- Experience with public accounting is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks, including third-party apps (e.g., Shopify, FullCircle).
