Job description

We are seeking a contract Business Analyst with a background in renewables who understands Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (vPPA) settlements and Renewable Energy Credit (REC) tracking. This role supports purchase order (PO) management, payment tracking, invoicing, and compliance-related reporting. The analyst will focus on standardized data entry and tracking across a renewable project portfolio, while providing internal backend data support. This role is 100% remote.


Responsibilities:

  • Track invoices and payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and communicate resolution status
  • Support purchase order management and apply knowledge of payment terms and invoicing processes
  • Communicate key performance indicators and status updates to stakeholders
  • Manage renewable energy tracking activities, including logging, acceptance, and credit transfers of RECs
  • Maintain accurate and routine data entry and portfolio tracking for renewable projects
  • Support compliance with regulatory and environmental attribute requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external points of contact to ensure alignment on settlements and reporting


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2-5 years of experience in renewables, renewable project development/ownership, or consulting for renewable data
  • Background in renewable settlements, including vPPAs, RECs, and environmental attribute certificates
  • Understanding of regulated vs. deregulated markets
  • Experience with REC tracking systems such as M-RETS or other registries
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail, especially for repetitive data tasks
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred
  • Familiarity with project financials, rates, and renewable developer processes is a plus
  • Highly detail-oriented and comfortable performing routine portfolio tracking
