Job description

We are seeking a Business Analyst on a contract basis to help support our customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote (PST); preference will be given to candidates local to Burlingame, CA who are open to a hybrid setup (3 days on-site and 2 days remote/week).



Responsibilities:

  • Partner with sales, category management, data analytics, and marketing teams to drive accurate demand planning and identify growth opportunities
  • Build bottom-up sell-through and sell-in forecasts using quantitative and qualitative data
  • Forecast and track weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales performance for hardware and accessory products
  • Analyze actuals versus forecasts and goals to identify gaps and root causes
  • Develop and implement mitigation plans to address performance gaps
  • Communicate forecast assumptions and the impact of strategic initiatives to stakeholders
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, dependencies, and correlations to improve forecast accuracy
  • Drive continuous improvement of forecasting tools, models, and methodologies
  • Collaborate with channel operations teams to influence production and launch decisions
  • Present forecasting insights and performance outcomes to business leaders


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 4-6+ years of overall experience in business strategy, finance, analytics, sales planning, or related fields
  • At least 2+ years of experience in hardware demand forecasting, including accessories
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills in forecasting and demand planning
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and translate insights into actionable strategies
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder communication skills
  • Experience presenting data and insights to leadership teams
  • Ability to work independently and execute tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in physical consumer goods or hardware products
  • Experience with forecasting systems such as O9 or similar tools
  • Strong ability to independently manage business processes and initiatives
