We are seeking a Business Analyst on a contract basis to own demand forecasting for the VR headset and wearables product lines. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role ideal for someone who thrives on data-driven planning in consumer hardware.

Candidates may work remotely within the PST time zone; however, preference will be given to those who can work onsite in Burlingame three days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with sales account managers, category managers, data analysts, and business unit marketing teams to drive accurate demand planning and identify growth initiatives.
  • Build bottom-up Sell-Through and Sell-In forecasts using quantitative and qualitative datasets.
  • Present forecast results and insights to business leaders across Meta Reality Labs.
  • Forecast and track weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales performance of AR/VR hardware products and accessories.
  • Analyze actual performance versus forecasts and goals, identify root causes, and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Communicate forecast assumptions and the impact of strategic initiatives to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, dependencies, and correlations that improve forecast accuracy.
  • Develop future outlooks and forecasting models based on data-driven insights.
  • Drive implementation of tools and techniques to continuously improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Partner with Channel Operations teams to influence production and launch decisions.
  • Present business outcomes and forecasting results during leadership reviews.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in hardware product demand forecasting, including accessories.
  • 6+ years of experience in business strategy, finance, analytics, sales planning, or related functions.
  • Experience building forecasting and demand planning models.
  • Experience performing analytical modeling and forecast accuracy analysis.
  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration across sales, marketing, operations, and analytics teams.
  • Experience presenting forecasts, business insights, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace tools, including Google Sheets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends, correlations, and business drivers.
  • Ability to independently manage business priorities and deliverables.
  • Hands-on, execution-focused mindset with the ability to dive into detailed analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience forecasting physical consumer goods.
  • Experience with forecasting and planning systems
