Job description
A partner of The Mom Project in the automotive industry is seeking a contract Business Analyst to help support their business needs.
The focus in this position is to assist in resolving current issues, providing solutions that benefit both the company and customer, and to encourage and share best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Track export orders from Order-to-Delivery (OTD) for global vehicle shipments
- Communicate with export customers regarding order entry issues, order changes, rejected orders, and cancellations
- Monitor and update Manufacturing Validation Build (MVB) status reports on a weekly basis
- Coordinate with logistics, finance, export product managers, MVB coordinators, offshore plants, and international markets regarding changes impacting product launches
- Escalate shipment, logistics, or launch-related issues to leadership as needed
- Prepare manual invoices for MVBs when required
- Coordinate logistics and financial transactions, including credit and rebill requests, reconsignments, and special shipment moves such as air freight or spot buys
- Generate, analyze, and review weekly operational reports related to production scheduling, delayed target production weeks, and logistics release issues
- Follow up with offshore manufacturing plants regarding system integration or production tracking issues
- Participate in monthly operational and logistics calls with international markets and cross-functional teams
- Create and manage Order Work Bench (OWB) user access for export dealers and coordinate systems access support
- Partner with IT teams to resolve delivery reporting and logistics system issues
- Support logistics teams by coordinating shipment-related inquiries with port processors and logistics partners
- Learn and execute operational reporting using internal logistics and order management systems
- Provide vacation coverage and operational support for team members on critical tasks
- Track vehicles at ports and ensure timely delivery to global regions
- Resolve operational roadblocks to ensure smooth international shipments and export operations
Skills and Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in logistics, export operations, vehicle shipping, or supply chain operations
- Experience supporting global vehicle exports or international shipping operations preferred
- Familiarity with global shipping regulations and export processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and recommend solutions
- Strong relationship-building and customer communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively through phone and email interactions
- Ability to understand and support unique customer requirements across international markets
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Strong organizational and operational coordination skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to learn and navigate multiple operational and logistics systems
- Experience using order management, logistics, or export tracking systems preferred
- Flexible and adaptable in handling changing priorities and operational demands
- Collaborative mindset with strong teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with global logistics providers or export management organizations
- Experience with DF Young or similar logistics partners
- Experience using logistics and operational systems such as VOMS, POMS, VTIMS, V-Logistics, Order Workbench, BARS, GMDID, or VinView
- Experience coordinating vehicle exports from North America to international regions
- Experience managing logistics-related financial transactions, including reconsignment and rebilling
Hours and Location:
- M-F, 40 hours/week
- 8 am - 4:30 pm
- Hybrid in Warren, MI - Tue/Wed/Thur in office, Mon/Fri remote
