Job description

Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee. The financial security company provides consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning and business planning. Its products include life insurance, permanent life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance; annuities; investments; and investment advisory products and services.


Our customer is looking for an Investment Operations Senior Specialist on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is on-site in Milwaukee, WI.



Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of the People Content Optimization for AI program by translating strategy into actionable discovery, analysis, and delivery
  • Conduct discovery activities to assess content structure, information hierarchy, metadata models, and semantic relationships across People platforms
  • Perform information architecture assessments including navigation models, content grouping, labeling, and cross-platform consistency
  • Inventory and evaluate taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and tagging frameworks to identify gaps, redundancies, and misalignment with user intent
  • Analyze content relationships and dependencies to support future-state ontology and knowledge graph readiness
  • Identify high-demand content, duplication, staleness, and usability issues using search logs, support tickets, and behavioral data
  • Document privacy, security, and regulatory constraints impacting content structure, access, and AI usage
  • Develop IA artifacts including content inventories, taxonomy models, hierarchy diagrams, content maps, and gap analyses
  • Support discovery workshops, stakeholder interviews, and research initiatives focused on IA and content modeling
  • Partner with Content Strategy, Digital Experience, Data, and Enablement teams to align content structures with platform capabilities
  • Establish and operationalize standards for content naming, classification, tagging, and reuse
  • Promote adoption of shared terminology, controlled vocabularies, and governance models across initiatives
  • Track milestones, risks, and dependencies in collaboration with project management
  • Escalate insights, tradeoffs, and recommendations to leadership to support prioritization and architectural decisions
  • Contribute to improving AI-driven content discoverability, retrieval, and knowledge system effectiveness


Skills and Qualifications:

  • 7-9 years of experience in information architecture, content strategy, knowledge management, digital experience, or HR technology
  • Strong expertise in information architecture and hierarchy design
  • Experience designing taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and metadata frameworks
  • Experience in ontology development and semantic relationship modeling
  • Strong background in metadata strategy and content modeling at scale
  • Ability to analyze and structure complex content ecosystems for improved findability and reuse
  • Familiarity with enterprise content platforms such as Workday Help, ServiceNow HRSD, or intranet/portal systems
  • Ability to translate research and analysis into structured models, frameworks, and governance standards
  • Strong analytical, synthesis, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) best practices
  • Experience with AI agents, Copilot tools, or knowledge center development
  • Advanced understanding of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, and related tools
  • Experience supporting AI-driven search, knowledge management, or digital transformation initiatives
