Job description

Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee. The financial security company provides consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning and business planning. Its products include life insurance, permanent life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance; annuities; investments; and investment advisory products and services.

Our Customer is looking for a Business Consultant on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is onsite in Milwaukee, WI.

What You'll Do:

  • Document what type of data is being sent to vendors. This includes coordinating the information gathering process, facilitating data classification questionnaires conversations and documenting the responses in the appropriate location. Furthermore, the information will be entered into Enterprise Data Catalog with the appropriate metadata (combining already collected data from the SharePoint repository)”
  • Document where the data is coming from: A similar to the item above, this roll will also coordinate High Level Data Linage conversations and enter in the results into the Enterprise Data Catalog,
  • Document data feeds are only sending the minimum data required: Once the data has been captured, this role will document A) why the data is being set to a vendor and B) How often the data is being sent to the vendor. This roll will partner with others to verify every data element has a valid business purpose to be shared with the vendor (at the Column level)
  • ServiceNow Data Cleanup: The focus of this is to improve "Data health" and sure information in ServiceNow is accurate and at the level of detail to help make informed business and/or risk decisions. Throughout this effort it is expected to develop and maintain relationships with the key business partners. Therefore, proven ability to effectively work with internal and external partners is required.

Must-haves:
  • A Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Business, Operations or related field preferred OR a significant amount of directly related work experience beyond the minimum required for the position
  • Broad understanding of various delivery methods (agile, waterfall, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong Business Consulting: The individual should possess the ability to effectively coordinate information gathering and manage data classification questionnaires. They should be skilled in documenting responses accurately and ensuring they are stored in the appropriate location. detail-oriented, organized, and proficient in data documentation.
  • Detail Oriented: The individual should demonstrate strong attention to detail. This is essential when scheduling meetings, coordinating data classification questionnaires and documenting responses accurately. Meeting invitations need to be sent to the correct participants, with clear agendas and all necessary documents attached. This will be critical throughout the entire process to ensure accurate documentation, precise execution of data-related tasks, and successful entry of data to the appropriate systems.
  • Clear Communicator: The consultant should have strong collaboration skills to coordinate with various stakeholders, including business teams, data owners, and potentially vendors. Effective communication is crucial to set and manage expectations with stakeholders, gather desired content, and clarify information that is missing or inaccurate.
Desired Skillset Summary:
  • Data Analysis: It is desired that the individual have experience in analyzing data, understanding data lineage, and working with Enterprise Data Catalogs. They should be able to interpret data sets, propose data & process improvements, and help address data questions from stakeholder.
  • Specific Tools: Prior experience with Collibra, ServiceNow, and Confluence are desired as they are tools that will be used within this effort.
