Job description
Title: Business Development Representative
Location: 90% Remote | 10% or less In-Person in Austin, TX office
Status: 3 months to start, ~ 10 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $25/hr
Our client is on a mission to make darts the next major mainstream American sport. A key part of their strategy involves introducing the sport into local communities at the youth and teen levels by providing engaging and accessible experiences in safe and fun environments. They are starting their rollout in Austin Texas.
This role will work with the founder on engagement strategies, meeting weekly to fully understand the vision and opportunity. From brainstorming sessions, the candidate will execute engagement strategies and provide feedback on what's working, and what needs to pivot. The ideal candidate does not need to understand darts but does understand the positive impact of organized sports and whose network includes local school systems may be a great fit.

Potential ways to build a new darts culture in U.S. communities:
- Host introductory “Darts 101” training/welcome sessions for curious players & families
- Find family-friendly/youth-friendly venues willing to host weekly darts events
- Get students to request on-campus darts support from their school administrators
- Facilitate interscholastic competitions to build darts awareness among the student bodies
What needs to be solved?
- How do we get youth/teens to experience darts for the first time?
- How do we get them to become regular players/fans?
- How do we provide regular training/competition experiences for them?
- How do we get institutional buy-in from their school?
