Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee. The financial security company provides consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning and business planning. Its products include life insurance, permanent life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance; annuities; investments; and investment advisory products and services.
Our customer is looking for a Business Consultant, Sr on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is onsite in Milwaukee, WI. Hybrid 3 days a week
The Team Operations Lead drives strategic process development and manages the team’s operating rhythm and execution support model. This role helps ensure leadership priorities are translated into clear plans, coordinated workflows, effective team communications, and consistent follow-through.
This individual serves as an operational partner to team leads, with clear responsibility for managing communications channels, improving team operations processes, supporting onboarding, and tracking execution. The role also requires strong presentation creation skills and the ability to develop polished visual materials and light graphic design assets to support team communications and leadership messaging.
Responsibilities:
- Support implementation of leadership plans and strategies by translating direction into actionable workflows, timelines, and ownership
- Monitor progress against priorities and follow up to ensure execution, momentum, and accountability
- Identify gaps, risks, and breakdowns in execution and proactively lead process improvements that strengthen operational effectiveness
- Partner with team leads to prepare for key forums, deliverables, updates, and decision points
- Anticipate needs, remove operational friction, and strengthen day-to-day team effectiveness
- Manage onboarding support for new team members, including coordination of resources, introductions, team materials, and integration into team rhythms and processes
- Manage end-to-end team meeting coordination, including agenda development, materials preparation, facilitation support, and follow-through
- Establish and maintain meeting discipline across the team, including cadence, structure, decision tracking, and accountability for outcomes
- Capture key decisions, risks, and action items and ensure timely follow-up and visibility
- Manage internal team communications, including recurring updates, recaps, leadership messages, and team-wide information flow
- Own and optimize team communication mechanisms and collaboration channels, including SharePoint sites, Slack channels, distribution lists, and related information repositories
- Ensure consistency, clarity, and timeliness of messaging across team leads and workstreams
- Serve as a central point of coordination for information sharing, updates, and communication processes while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and team effectiveness
- Drive coordination and progress tracking across key initiatives, milestones, dependencies, and follow-through
- Maintain clear project plans, status updates, and visibility into risks, blockers, and decisions
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners to keep priorities aligned and work moving forward
Qualifications
- Strong operational and organizational capabilities with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences
- Experience managing meeting preparation, agendas, follow-ups, and executive-level materials
- Strong presentation creation skills, with the ability to build clear, polished decks, visual Ability to create light graphic design assets and visually engaging communication materials that enhance clarity and message impact
- Strong coordination and light project management experience, including tracking, follow-through, and stakeholder alignment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and maintain momentum across competing demands
- Proactive, self-directed mindset with strong ownership and sound judgment
- Experience with tools such as Outlook, Slack, SharePoint, and planning tools such as Airtable
- Team meetings are structured, efficient, and decision-oriented, with clear follow-through
- Team leads feel supported, prepared, and enabled to focus on priorities
- Communication channels and team information mechanisms are organized, current, and effective
- Strategic plans are translated into visible execution, momentum, and accountability
