Job description
The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client, a business valuation and advisory firm.
They serve clients across the United States and operate with a fully remote team. They are looking for a Business Valuation Analyst to join their team!
The Valuation Analyst is responsible for preparing valuation reports for client projects that are issued for purposes including; M&A, Internal Planning, Partner Buyout, Divorce, Tax Filings, and other general purposes.
Responsibilities
Primary: Complete Valuation Engagements in accordance to NACVA / AICPA standards
- Spread financials
- Analyze income statements and balance sheets
- Identify normalization adjustments
- Recast depreciation, working capital, etc.
- Conduct asset, income, and market approaches
- Assess appropriate methodologies for each approach
- Utilize appropriate databases for research and datasets
- Reconcile differences
- Keep project workbook up-to-date throughout the engagement
- Compile findings and conclusions in a written report, based on in-house templates.
- Client facing communication through email, and / or video web conferencing.
Secondary: Support | Improvement | Growth
- Provide support in the form of troubleshooting and review for other team member valuation engagements from time to time.
- Assist in finding ways to improve reports, streamline processes, and improve quality control.
- Possibility to assist with and / or co-publish papers or presentations
- Continued Education
Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelors (or higher) in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
- Valuation credential of CVA, ASA or ABV (or relevant equivalent) and / or certification (CPA or CMA)
- Experience with Business Valuation Work
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- An added plus but not required: Experience with QuickBooks, Risk Management Association Database (RMA), DealStats, Kroll Cost of Capital (previously Duff & Phelps).
- Comfortable with technology
- Strong attention to detail, deadline-oriented, time management
- High analytical skills
