Our Customer is seeking a Buyer on a contract basis to support their business needs.


This role is part of a small team responsible for sourcing and purchasing grocery items to fulfill customer orders as completely and accurately as possible. Responsibilities include proactively purchasing items and making real-time substitution decisions when necessary to maintain order quality and fulfillment standards.


Success in this role requires strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills, along with a solid understanding of grocery products and categories. This position plays a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience by ensuring items are fresh, accurate, and of high quality.


This role is 100% remote, covering a 10 am – 6 pm ET shift Mon-Fri.



Responsibilities:

  • Purchase grocery items proactively to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Verify item availability and make customer-focused substitution decisions when items are out of stock
  • Execute workflows to ensure orders meet quality, freshness, and accuracy standards
  • Manage multiple orders and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure a high-quality customer experience through accurate and thoughtful product selection
  • Collaborate with team members to support operational excellence and efficient order fulfillment


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1+ years of experience in grocery, retail, buying, merchandising, fulfillment, or a related field
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make real-time decisions
  • Strong written communication skills with clear and concise documentation
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Comfortable using technology and navigating digital tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with G-Suite and Slack
  • Experience in grocery buying, store operations, inventory management, or order fulfillment
