Job description

Title: Junior Capture Specialist
Location: 100% Remote
Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000, commensurate with experience
Status: Full-Time Employee
Ideal Candidate Has: 2-3 years of capture/market research in Government Contracting

Our client is seeking to hire an entrepreneurial-minded, creative team member for their Capture Specialist role in support of internal and external business development management teams in the Federal and SLED government markets.

This includes researching promising new business opportunities, networking, and cultivating teaming strategies, and helping turn those opportunities into new business for the company. The ideal candidate is a team player, able to see the big picture without overlooking the details, and fosters a positive, collaborative, and responsive team environment.

Successful candidates will be self-motivated, comfortable with data and technology, and have a passion for business development and are eager to learn about, and further their skills in the capture and proposal lifecycle. If you are a quick learner and excellent communicator who enjoys working as part of a fast-paced small business team with a dynamic workload, we want you on our team!

Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity tracking and pursuit review
  • Managing client database and distribution list
  • Finding, documenting, and tracking opportunities
  • Finding and developing teaming partnerships
  • Supporting account planning and pursuit strategies
  • Engaging with project teams to build customer knowledge
  • Evaluate and shape and help pursue opportunities
  • Additional responsibilities as required for business development

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with common tools such as GovWin, FPDS, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Federal acquisition cycle familiarity
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Task management experience
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Proficiency in researching and developing Federal market and competitive data independently
  • Ability to draw logical conclusions about correlated data
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in organizing, facilitating and managing meetings
  • Experience using SaaS platforms to manage and track pipelines and tasks

Nice to Have Skills

  • Knowledge of SaaS platform sales pipeline configuration and management (ie, HubSpot, Pipedrive, etc.)
  • Shipley training in Business Development or Proposal Writing
  • Financial/Pricing Experience
  • Proposal development and management

Job Type

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years’ experience supporting federal clients, ideally with business development, project management, or business /competitive intelligence analysis experience/exposure

Travel Requirement:

  • Willingness to support exhibits/conferences and training events.
  • Opportunity for occasional travel to customer locations (2-3 annually), but not required.

Location

  • Remote (Must be willing to travel to Tysons, Va for limited, pre-scheduled team meetings)
