Category Manager (100% Remote/Hybrid in Houston, TX)

We are seeking a Category Manager on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is 100% remote, but candidates local to Houston are preferred to work hybrid (1-3 days in-office/week).

Responsibilities:

• Execute procurement activities for software, services, and systems using SAP ECC
• Create and manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and contracts in SAP ECC
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure business alignment
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation within SAP ECC
• Provide documentation and reports to support audits and compliance reviews
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of purchasing experience
• Strong working knowledge of SAP ECC and purchasing transactions
• Bachelor’s degree recommended; high school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
