Job description

We are a Chicago-based company that offers custom-made leather bags enabled through proprietary technology. Co-founded by CEO Laura Kofoid, we are an innovating the handbag industry with a focus on creating high-quality, sustainable, and affordable bags that are made to order. Bags are sold at online, in the Chicago design studio, and through corporate events around the globe. Additionally, the company has created SaaS technology, currently in beta, that can be spun-off as a separate entity.

We're looking for a COO, the company #2, reporting directly to the CEO to drive transformational growth. The COO will work with internal and external teams to 1) improve day-to-day operations including factory management, raw materials inventory management, integration with 3D model and e-commerce providers, and reporting; and 2) work with the CTO and CEO to prepare the technology business for expansion.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five years professional experience in consumer products, retail buying, manufacturing, supply chain management, finance, or sourcing.
  • Desire to make a difference in an ever-changing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with critical path development and management to drive results. Action orientation.
  • Creative problem solver willing to jump in and get the job done.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Strong organization, process management, and follow-through.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to work with a variety of people.
  • Excellent office and computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet research.
  • Personal enthusiasm. Passion for doing what has never been done before.
  • High degree of self-motivation and persistence. Ability to work under pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or relevant field.
