Job description

Our customer is a global provider of information-based analytics and decision tools for professional and business customers. They help researchers make new discoveries, doctors and nurses improve the lives of patients, and lawyers develop winning strategies. They prevent online fraud and money laundering and help insurance companies evaluate and predict risk. Their events combine in-person and digital experiences to help customers learn about markets, source products and complete transactions. In short, they enable customers to make better decisions, get better results and be more productive.


We are seeking a contract Civil Litigation Attorney Editor to help develop online legal products. The attorney will create “how-to” practice notes, forms, checklists, and legal analysis on a range of procedural topics. Work will include drafting new content with guidance based on case law, statutes, regulations, custom, and personal experience. This role is 100% remote.


Part-time, 15-20 hours weekly



Skills/Qualifications:

  • Law degree from an accredited law school
  • Bar admission in at least one state
  • At least 5 years of experience litigating in federal and/or state court
  • Excellent writing, legal research, and analysis skills
  • Ability to complete projects by assigned deadlines
  • Ability to accept feedback on writing and revise accordingly
  • Organized and self-motivated
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Word (including Track Changes) and conducting online legal research



Candidates should have litigation experience with at least most of the following:

  • Practiced in at least one of the following state courts: CA, NY, MA, TX
  • Drafting initial filings, settlements, and ADR documents
  • All phases of discovery, including drafting discovery devices and expert reports, taking depositions, and discovery-related motion practice, including motions to compel and for sanctions
  • Trial preparation
  • Pre- and post-trial remedy motions, including injunctions, motions to dismiss, summary judgment, and other motion types
