Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.
We are seeking a Collaboration Success Engineer on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is hybrid in Sunnyvale, CA.
Role Overview:
- The Collaboration Success Engineer is a highly customer-facing technology consultant within the Collaboration Success Team.
- This role partners directly with internal customers to help build solutions with, adopt, and maximize value from our collaboration technologies, with a primary focus on SharePoint and Smartsheet.
- The engineer works independently to assess business needs, recommend solutions, support the migration from Box to SharePoint, and drive successful adoption of collaboration platforms including Smartsheet and Asana.
- This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with exceptional customer engagement skills.
- Approximately 90% of the role is customer-facing and requires confidence presenting to groups, facilitating workshops, and guiding stakeholders through technology decisions/solutions.
- SharePoint is the role’s primary technical focus.
- The Lead SharePoint Engineer will guide internal customers through SharePoint solution design, information architecture, governance, adoption, and migration from Box to SharePoint and OneDrive.
- The role will help customers determine where content belongs, how information should be structured, how access should be managed, and how SharePoint should work with the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
- Approximately 45% of the role will focus on Smartsheet solutioning and customer consulting, including business-process discovery, workflow design, automation, reporting, dashboards, implementation, adoption, and optimization.
- The role will also advise and support customers using other collaboration and work-management technologies, including Asana.
- This is not a traditional back-end SharePoint administration role.
- Approximately 90% of the positions are customer-facing and requires a strong consulting presence, excellent facilitation and presentation skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to translate complex needs into practical, scalable solutions.
- The successful candidate will combine engineering depth with customer success, change leadership, and executive communication.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manages a portfolio of customer engagements from discovery through adoption.
- Builds trusted relationships with business stakeholders and becomes a go-to advisor for collaboration solutions.
- Successfully guides teams through Box-to-SharePoint migrations and platform adoption initiatives.
- Delivers measurable improvements in user adoption, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Consistently receives positive feedback for communication, consulting skills, and solution recommendations.
- Needs to be able to autonomously:
- Facilitate discovery sessions
- Contribute to solution standards and best practices
- Share knowledge and collaborate with team members
- Serve as a trusted SharePoint and Smartsheet consultant
Qualifications:
- Top skills: Sharepoint and SmartSheet.
- 3–6 years of experience in SharePoint, Microsoft 365, collaboration technologies, customer success, consulting, or a related field.
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into practical technology solutions.
- Experience supporting or participating in content migration, collaboration, or digital workplace initiatives.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously
- Naturally curious and customer focused.
- Comfortable leading workshops, presentations, and stakeholder discussions.
- Able to simplify complex technology concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Self-directed and capable of managing work with minimal supervision.
- Passionate about helping customers achieve better business outcomes through technology.
- Excited to work across multiple collaboration platforms rather than focusing on a single technology stack.
