Job description

The Mom Project is partnering with a well-known internet company to support their search for a contract Commercial Contracts Attorney!

Location: 100% remote for US based candidates

Role Description:
As a Commercial Attorney, you’ll review and revise contracts, proactively assess legal and business risks, and counsel business partners on compliance with laws and internal policies.

Responsibilities:
  • Review, draft, revise, and negotiate commercial contracts for multiple business areas (including software, SaaS, and hardware procurement and professional services engagements)
  • Meet regularly with business teams to prioritize contracting pipelines
  • Counsel the business on legal and strategic matters (including IP, privacy/data protection, brand, employment, intercompany, and open source software issues) in compliance with applicable laws, external commitments, and internal policies
  • Coordinate with cross-functional business partners (e.g., Finance, Privacy and Security, Governance, Real Estate, Strategic Partnerships) as needed
  • Escalate key risks for business review and approval
  • Educate business partners on the end-to-end contracting process

Minimum qualifications:
  • JD or equivalent degree
  • Admitted to a bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law
  • 5+ years attorney experience

Preferred qualifications:
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, able to draft and negotiate commercial contracts independently and advise business partners directly
  • Experience in an in-house legal team
  • Excellent business judgment and strategic thinking
  • Proactive approach to recognizing needs, solving problems, anticipating issues and developing solutions
