Job description
Our Customer is an American worldwise clothing and accessories retailer, founded in 1969. Over the last 50 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with seven brands. Their clothes are availabile in 90 countries worldwide through over 3,100 company-operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites and is still growing.
We are seeking a Communications Consultant on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is remote in San Francisco, CA.
The Communications Consultant will play an important role in developing and implementing strategic employee communication programs and storytelling on behalf of the HR organization. The successful candidate is someone who is comfortable working with cross-functional people teams, including Talent Management, HR Employee Experience, and Field Communications. In addition to supporting HR program communications, this role will also provide secondary support for executive communications and major all-employee moments, such as quarterly town halls, as needed. This role will report to the Director, Internal and Executive Communications.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with multiple stakeholders across Corporate Communications, Talent Management, Total Rewards, HR Employee Experience, Inclusion & Belonging, and other HR functions to develop, execute, and cross-collaborate on communications and experience around HR Programs.
- Leads the development and execution of integrated communications plans for key HR moments, including performance management, employee opinion surveys, benefits campaigns, and open enrollment. Engages employees, creates awareness, and drives action.
- Serves as a conduit between Corporate Communications & Field Communications, proactively identifying optimal timing and methods for communication and ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience with the HR Programs.
- Partners with HR Implementation and other relevant teams to continuously evaluate the effectiveness of communications campaigns, ongoing collateral, and service center interactions. Pilot adjustments and new mechanisms to ensure continuous improvement.
- Provides support for executive leader communications as needed, including drafting internal messages, preparing talking points, and assisting with quarterly town halls and other leadership forums.
- Supports execution of major all-employee moments, including quarterly enterprise Town Halls and other companywide communications events.
- Infuses the company narrative and tone into all communications, ensuring alignment with purpose, mission, vision, and values.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of directly relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities; in-house Corporate Communications with a focus on HR/employee experience is ideal.
- An individual contributor who is curious about the business, has a passion for people-related work, and is confident and responsive working with executives.
- Superb, persuasive writing skills, experience on an executive communications team, and proficient in executive presentations and reports.
- Highly organized with acute attention to detail and a proven track record of working in a cross-functional communications environment.
- Demonstrated agility with juggling multiple projects under deadline, optimizing resources, and self-prioritizing work.
- Creative and innovative; ability to move from concept to ideation to execution; strong bias for action
- Experienced in using Microsoft Suite – namely PowerPoint – and Mailchimp, as well as defining KPIs and showcasing data-driven results.
